Terms of sale

These are the terms of buying a painting from this studio. They are short because the transaction is simple: one artist, one painting, one buyer, no middle.

Who you are buying from

Every piece on alvirart.com is sold directly by Alvir Art, an independent artist working in Austin, Texas. There is no gallery, no reseller and no third party between you and the studio. Questions about an order reach the person who painted the work.

What you are buying

An original painting. One of one. Acrylic and mixed media on stretched canvas, signed and dated by hand, issued with a certificate of authenticity written for that piece specifically. Nothing offered here is a print, a reproduction or an edition, and no work sold is ever reprinted or repeated.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and include insured delivery within the United States. Payment is taken by Stripe, which handles the card directly — the studio never sees or stores your card number. Your order is confirmed when Stripe confirms the payment, not when the checkout page closes.

One of one, and what happens if two people buy it

A single painting cannot be sold twice. If two orders for the same work arrive within moments of each other, the first completed payment holds and the second is refunded in full, immediately and without being asked. You will hear about it from the studio before you notice it on your statement.

When it ships

5 business days in the studio — signing, sealing, issuing the certificate and crating — and then the shipping time. The full detail, including what happens if a piece arrives damaged, is on the Delivery & returns page, and those terms form part of this agreement.

Returns

A one-of-one painting is not a returnable product, so there is no change-of-mind return. That is the trade-off of buying something that exists once. If the work that arrives is not the work that was sold, or it arrives damaged, it is resolved in your favour — always, and at the studio's cost.

What the sale does not include

Buying the painting gives you the painting. It does not transfer the copyright, which stays with the artist. What you can and cannot do with the image is set out on the Copyright page, in plain words.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. If something goes wrong, write to the studio first: a studio this size fixes problems faster than a court does.
